How to measure blood sugar level
Wash and dry your hands thoroughly. Warming your finger can sometimes help increase blood flow.
Insert the test strip into your meter.
Use the needle to prick your fingertip.
Press gently and/or massage your fingertip until a circular drop of blood forms at the tip of your finger.
Align the test strip with the blood drop and then gently touch the strip to the edge of the blood drop
The meter will show the blood sugar level on the screen within seconds
