Why Minoxidil is used
- Minoxidil is used topically on the scalp to treat hereditary hair loss.
Do not use Minoxidil:
- If you are allergic to the active substances or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.
- If you have high blood pressure.
- If you have a skin condition of your scalp such as psoriasis or sunburn.
- If you have hair loss for other reasons (medications, childbirth).
- If you have a shaved scalp.
- If you have to wear a bandage or cover your scalp.
Caution & Warnings:
Tell your doctor about all your health conditions, including:
- If you have heart or blood vessel problems.
- If you are not sure about the health of your scalp.
Possible side effects:
Discontinue use of this product and seek immediate medical attention if you develop a rash; itching; red, sore or peeled skin; tightness in the chest or throat; difficulty breathing, swallowing or speaking; unusual hoarseness or swelling of the mouth, face, lips, tongue or throat.
The frequency with which these side effects occur is unknown.
Contact your doctor if you experience any of these symptoms:
- Allergic reactions
- Chest pain
- Palpitations and/or rapid heartbeat
- Puffy hands and feet
- Vertigo and fainting
Other medicines Minoxidil
Tell your doctor about all the medications you are taking.
Minoxidil interacts with:
- Blood pressure medications called vasodilators (such as hydralazine).
- Topical corticosteroids used on your scalp.
How to use Minoxidil:
- This property is intended for people between the ages of 18 and 65.
- Use this medicine as directed by your doctor.
- This medicine is used on the scalp only.
- Apply 1 ml to your scalp twice daily (6 sprays).
How to store Minoxidil:
- Store at room temperature 68 to 77°F (20 to 25°C).
- Keep away from heat, flammable liquid.
- Keep this medicine out of the reach of children.
- Do not use this medicine after the expiration date stated on the package.
